I have combination skin and my t-zone often gets very oily and sometimes breaks out. I love this product because its main ingredient is glycolic acid, an AHA (Alpha hydroxy acid), which exfoliates the top layer of your skin gradually and helps unclog your pores, thus preventing acne break outs. I've used it for years, once daily, usually before bedtime, and only sometimes do I follow it with a little benzoyl peroxide if I have a stubborn break out and my skin clears up fast! (Misc.) I have been using proactiv for 10 years. Nowadays I use the cleanser twice a day and follow with the treatment from [...](also contains benzoyl peroxide, like the proactiv lotion). My sister also uses proactiv, and we decided together that the toner really doesn't make much of a difference. The cleanser works great, but I haven't used the toner in years, and I can't imagine that it really matters. So I agree with those who say you can use the system but eliminate the toner step.
